金希文(1957生),作曲家、指揮家。出生於雲林縣斗六鎮(今雲林縣斗六市)。五歲由父親啟蒙鋼琴,先後畢業於日本橫濱市立港中學、橫濱市立商業高等學校,期間曾隨武藏野音大教授學習鋼琴;大學赴美就讀,獲得拜歐拉大學音樂系鋼琴與作曲雙學士、伊士曼音樂學院鋼琴與作曲雙碩士以及作曲博士學位。曾任日本優笛亞交響樂團指揮,現任音契合唱管絃樂團指揮暨音樂總監。先後任教於東海大學,東吳大學,目前擔任臺灣師範大學音樂系專任教授。2017年,榮獲國家文藝獎。代表作品有第三號交響曲《臺灣》(1995)、《雙協奏曲》(2000)、《三重協奏曲》(2012)。
CHIN Gordon Shi-Wen (born 1957) is a composer and conductor. He was born in Yunlin, Taiwan and began taking piano lessons from his father at the age of five. He completed his high school studies in Japan and his undergraduate studies in the United States. He obtained a Bachelor's degree with a double major in piano and composition from Biola University, as well as a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition from the Eastman School of Music. Chin is a member of the faculty at the National Taiwan Normal University and the director of music at YinQi Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. He is also the recipient of the twentieth National Cultural and Arts Award. In 2007 and 2015, Naxos published the albums, Formosa Seasons for Solo Violin and Strings and Cello Concerto No.1. Chin’s main compositions include Symphony No. 4 (1995), Formosa Seasons for Solo Violin and Strings (2000), Violin Concerto No. 3 (2007), Opera Mackay - The Black Bearded Bible Man (2008), Piano Concerto No. 1 (2009) and Triple Concerto (2012).
