陸森寶 (Baliwakes),原住民音樂家;1910 年 11 月 2 日出生於臺東,1988 年 3 月 26 日逝世於臺東。曾就讀臺南師範學校,念書之餘苦練鋼琴,畢業之後任教於新港、臺東,教職退休後,即致力於母文化的傳揚與延續,有「卑南族音樂靈魂」之稱,他的作品《讚揚儲蓄互助社》、《達到六千萬》等的歌曲不但流傳於卑南族各部落之間,《美麗的稻穗》更在卑南族名歌手胡德夫的傳唱之下聞名全國,《頌祭祖先》、《卑南山》也被雲門舞集納為舞蹈配樂。
LU Sen-Bao (Baliwakes) was born in Taitung in 1910. He attended Tainan Teachers College, practicing piano in his spare time. After graduating, he taught in Hsinkang and Taitung County. After retiring, he devoted his life to passing on the traditions of his culture. He has been given the epithet, “the Puyuma tribe’s musical soul.” His major compositions include “Praise for the Credit Union” and “Up to 60 Million Dollars” which were very popular among the Puyuma. His song “Beautiful Rice Ear” became a national hit by Puyuma folk singer Kimbo (Hu Defu). Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan choreographed dances to his “Exalt and Make Offerings to the Ancestors” and “Mount Puyuma.” He died in Taitung in 1988.
