蘇凡凌,1955年出生於新竹,1985至1991年於奧地利維也納市立音樂學院及國立維也納音樂學院學習理論作曲及電子音樂。2001年在國內成立藝術類博士班之初,即考上國立臺北藝術大學作曲博士班,師事潘皇龍教授,並於2007年取得學位,成為第一位由國內培育之作曲博士。其作品《八卦》曾獲得奧地利作曲家聯盟作曲比賽首獎、《天地人》獲德國曼海姆市之「第九屆國際女作曲家作品比賽」榮譽獎章,亦多次獲得國內創作獎項。目前執教於國立新竹教育大學音樂系,並兼該校人文社會與藝術學院之院長一職。
SU Fan-Ling, born in 1955 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, studied composition and electronic music at Vienna Municipal Conservatory of Music and the National Vienna Conservatory of Music from 1985 to 1991. In 2001, SU was admitted to study composition under Dr. PAN Huang-Lung at Taipei National University of the Arts in one of the first doctorate programs in Taiwan history, and in 2007 she become Taiwan’s first home-grown doctor of music composition. SU’s musical work, The Eight Trigrams, won Grand Prize at the Union of Austrian Composers Contest and her Heaven, Earth, and Man, was awarded Medal of Honor at the 9-th Female Composers Contest in Mannheim, Germany. She is also a winner of numerous composition awards in Taiwan. Currently, SU teaches at Department of Music of National Hsinchu University of Education and serves as Dean of its College of Liberal Arts.
