月暈是我嘗試使用傳統樂器-古箏所創作的現代音樂作品。而三台古箏更能將古箏的性能發揮地淋漓盡致。全曲以古曲《月兒高》做為基本素材。企圖將古人對月亮的聯想和詩意用現代新的音響美學重新詮釋。分為三個段落。第一段落寫景(第一頁到第十一頁)月兒在雲霧間穿梭,若隱若現。終而穿破雲層。嶄放華彩。古曲旋律在此經過多種不同音響的發展及處理,宛如月暈的多重色彩層次一般。給予古曲多重的面貌。第二段以圖形方式來表達月「圓」。三台古箏繞著圓形的樂譜,從外向內。順著各自所喜好的路徑。駛向中心點會合團圓(第十一頁和第十二頁之間)。第三段古曲旋律再現。旋律沉浮不定,雲霧漸起。月兒不斷向西高升。漸而失去蹤影(第十二頁到第十五頁)。
"Aureole" is an attempt to express contemporarily the ancient musical issue-the moon-in using the traditional Chinese instrument Gu-Zheng (Chinese Zither). With three zithers, the extension and the volume of the sounds can be reached in a best way.The ancient musical piece- "the high moon" -, a famous traditional composition for pipa, is taken in my piece as the basic material. I try to develop this basic material to create a modern soundscape of the moon in our time.There are three parts in this composition:The first part is a description of the scenery that the overclouded moon gets out of the clouds. The changing colors of the moonlight inspire me to the different nuances of the sounds in Gu- Zheng (page 1 to page 11). The ancient melodies of the "the high moon" are developed in different ways like the different colors of the Aureole. Philosophically I hope to communicate my feeling to the moon with the ancient artists by using their musical material. The feelings are the same, but the ways of expressions are not.The second part is a graphical notation originated from the shape of the moon. The musicians play the sound-cycles from outside to inside in small and big cycles. They begin with a sound- cycle and end with the one in the middle of the page between page 11 and page 12 (A3 format).In the last part, the moon moves away and disappears in the cloudy and starry sky (page 12 to page 15).
